The CERB (Canadian Emergency Relief Benefit) has been extended from 16 weeks to 24 weeks. The extension was announced on June 16, 2020.
Beginning July 5 recipients must sign attestation acknowledging the Canadian Government wants the recipients to work and to consult with the government’s job bank.
The Canadian Government wants to make it clear that they are encouraging people to find or go back to work when it is possible to do so.
